TransaeroTransaero Airlines (Russian: "Авиакомпания Трансаэро") or simply Transaero is a Russian airline based at Domodedovo International Airport in Moscow, Russia. It operates domestic flights within Russia, as well as international flights to cities in Europe and Asia. History Transaero was firstly a charter airline with aircraft leased from Aeroflot. First charter service was Moscow to Tel Aviv on November 5, 1991. Transaero became a private joint stock company on December 28, 1990. In July 1992, Transaero received its own Ilyushin Il-86. Becoming the first non-Aeroflot airline to operate scheduled flight in Russia, Transaero launched its Moscow - Norilsk flight in January 1993 followed by Kiev, Sochi and Almaty in later the same year. In April 1993, Transaero became the first Russian airline to operate western aircraft when it received its first Boeing 737-200. Followed by its first Boeing 757-200 in April 1994. Transaero was also the first Russian airline with a frequent flyer program, which established in 1995. It was also the first Russian airline with FAA aircraft maintenance certificate, which obtained in 1997. Transaero operated its first 737-700 in 1998, followed by 767-200 and 737-300 in 2002 and 767-300 and 737-400 in 2003 which Tu-204-300 was signed to purchase in the same year. Although Airbus A310, Boeing 737-200, McDonnell Douglas DC-10 were also used. The company had changed to a all Boeing fleet which consists of 767-300, 767-200, 737-700, 737-400 and 737-300.
