Tracy Chevalier

Tracy Chevalier (1962 - )is a historical novelist whose career began with a book on the creation of the painting Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer. Leaving her job as a reference book editor in 1993, she began a MA in creative writing at the University of East Anglia. Her tutors on the course were Malcolm Bradbury and Rose Tremain. She is currently working on a book about William Blake.
