Tracy Chapman is the self-titled debut album by American singer/songwriter Tracy Chapman, released in 1988 (see 1988 in music). The album was critically acclaimed and helped to launch the 1990s female singer/songwriter movement, including artists like Tori Amos, and Sarah McLachlan. The song "Fast Car" was a hit single.
