Toyota Uz EngineThe Toyota UZ engine family is a V8 piston engine series. 1UZ-FE The 1UZ-FE debuted in 1998. It was based on the older Lexus V8 but added VVT-i (the first application of this technology). Output was 300 hp and 310 ft.lbf (420 Nm) for the Lexus GS and 290 hp and 300 ft.lbf (407 Nm) for the Lexus LS and Lexus SC. It was voted to the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 1998 through 2000. Output is 240 hp (179 kW) at 4800 RPM with 315 ft.lbf (427 Nm) of torque at 3400 RPM. It has a cast iron engine block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads. It uses MFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder with bucket tappets and features forged steel connecting rods, a one-piece cast camshaft, and a cast aluminum intake manifold. Applications: Another 2UZ-FE variation adds VVT-i and electronic throttle control. Applications: 3UZ-FE The 3UZ-FE is a 4.3 L (4292 cc) version built in Japan. Bore is 91 mm and stroke is 82.5 mm. Output is 300 hp (224 kW) at 5600 RPM with 325 ft.lbf (441 Nm) of torque at 3400 RPM. It has an aluminum engine block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads.
