Touch-and-go

Touch-and-Go is a term used in many ways:
TaG engines are kart engines which have an electric starter motor and so don't have to be pushed like many other varieties. They are usually two-stroke 125cc non-gearbox machines. Most last significantly longer than 100cc engines before needing a rebuild, because they do not rev as high (therefore less stress on parts) and so produce the same amount of power with a higher capacity. Popular engines include the Rotax Max and the Parilla Leopard. In November 2004 the FIA announced that the new generation of engines used in the top classes would be TaG based in order to reduce costs. Draft regulations have been published and the engines will come into use in 2007.
Touch-and-Go is a pilot's term for a maneuver that is common when learning to fly an airplane. It involves landing on a runway and then taking off again without coming to a stop. Usually the pilot then circles the airport and repeats the maneuver. This allows many landings, the most difficult part of flying, to be practiced in a relatively short time.
