Tigre Language

Tigre is a Semitic language descended from Ge'ez and is closely related to Tigrinya and Amharic. It is spoken by approximately one million people in Eritrea with a few speakers in Sudan. The Tigre language and its speakers should not be confused with the Tigray province in Ethiopia, nor with the Tigrinyan people in Tigray and Eritrea.
