The Lost And The Damned

In the table-top wargame Warhammer 40,000, The Lost and the Damned are one of the forces of Chaos. They consist of the scum of the Galaxy - traitors, heretics, cultists, mutants and other horrors too numerous to comprehend, such as the insane Chaos Spawn. Often it is the Imperial Guard that turn from His divining light to the darkness of the Forces of Chaos and so consequently they make up the bulk of the Lost and the Damned, providing the firepower and led into battle by mighty Aspiring Champions - Space Marines who turned traitor millenia ago during the Horus Heresy. Often entire companies of Guardsmen turn to Chaos, and take with them their vehicles, such as the Basilisk and the mighty Leman Russ. Mutants also make up the bulk of their armies, with many disturbing and disgusting mutations adorning their once-human bodies. Chaos Space Marines lead them into battle, and accompanied by the monstrouous Defiler, the Lost and the Damned are a deadly foe to face.

Defiler

The Defiler is a monstouous War Machine of Chaos. Created at the orders of Abbadon the Despoiler, it is grotesque six-legged machine with a daemon bound inside it. Its main armaments are the Reaper Autocannons attached to its side and the mighty Battle Cannon, similar to those mounted on a Leman Russ, but with its six mighty claw-like legs in is more than capable of tearing up opponents in combat as well. It was origionally created by Abbadon the Despoiler for the 13th Black Crusade (See Eye of Terror Campaign), but has since then appeared in nearley all of the other Traitor Legions. It is especially prominent in The Lost and the Damned, adding some much needed firepower and combat ability to the army.

Leman Russ

The Leman Russ battle tank is often considered one of the mightiest Battle Tanks in the universe. With its turret-mounted Battle Cannon and three Heavy Bolters, it is more than capable of mowing down troops, vehicles and buildings alike. Its armour is near impeneterable, almost as strong as that of the Land Raider. However, this mighty tank is also feared in the Imperium, as both traitors in The Lost and the Damned and the foul Orks have captured many of these mighty war engines and modified them for their own purposes. Right = Looted Leman Russ - note the 'additions' and the Ork 'krew'. Above - loyalist Leman Russ of the Cadians

Daemons

Daemons are often used by The Lost and the Damned as well, being utilized as shock troops to materialise next to the enemy before charging into combat. Common Daemons include Bloodletters of Khorne, Daemonettes of Slannesh, Plaguebearers of Nurgle and Horrors of Tzeentch. These Daemons vary wildly in appearance and combat abilities.
