The God That Failed

"The God that Failed" is a song from Metallica's self-titled album. This album was a controversial album written in 1991, because of the change in lyrics (from death and destruction to more personal topics). "The God that Failed", written by Hetfield and Ulrich, is a song about Hetfield's mother's Christian Science beliefs. Because of her faith she refused treatement and died from cancer.
