The Apostle

The Apostle is a 1997 movie, written and directed by Robert Duvall, who stars in the title role. Farrah Fawcett, Billy Bob Thornton, June Carter Cash, and Miranda Richardson also appear. It was filmed in and around Dallas, Texas. Sonny (Duvall), a charismatic Christian minister, puts his wife's lover into a coma, then flees, trying to make something out of the rest of his life. Tagline: The hardest soul to save was his own. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor (Duvall).
