Thames Valley, New Zealand

Thames Valley
is a district in the
North Island
of
New Zealand
. It is located along the banks of the
Waihou River
, formerly known as the Thames River, to the south of the
Firth of Thames
, southeast of
Auckland
. The area is considered part of the
Waikato
region for some administrative purposes, and part of the
Thames-Coromandel
region for others. The region's principle industry is
dairy
farming, and its main towns are
Paeroa
and
Te Aroha
.
