Tamango

Tamango is a 1957 film, directed by John Berry, a black-listed American director who exiled himself to Europe. The beautiful Dorothy Dandridge stars, giving a brilliant performance in a film way ahead of its time. Based on the book by Prosper Mrime, the film is about a slave ship rebellion. Also starring Curt Jurgens and a beautifully handsome Alex Cressan, the film was banned in certain parts of the country because of the interracial love scenes with Dorothy and Curt Jurgens. Despite some of the bloodless often campy writing and acting, this film is important and should be viewed to glance the luscious Dandridge and the handsome Cressan.
