Szabolcs-szatmr-bereg

Szabolcs-Szatmr-Bereg is the name of an administrative county (comitatus or megye) in north-eastern Hungary, on the border with Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania. It shares borders with the Hungarian counties Hajd-Bihar and Borsod-Abaj-Zempln. The capital of Szabolcs-Szatmr-Bereg county is Nyregyhza. Szabolcs-Szatmr-Bereg county was created after World War II from the pre-1938 counties Szatmr-Ugocsa-Bereg and Szabolcs. Before approx. 1990, it was called Szabolcs-Szatmr county.
