Swingline

Swingline is a company that specializes in manufacturing staplers and hole punchers. Swingline was founded in 1925 by Jack Linsky as the Parrot Speed Fastener Company, and opened its first manufacturing facility in 1931. In 1939, the company changed its name to Speed Products, and in 1956, became Swingline. It became a division of of ACCO Brands, Inc. in 1987 and is headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois. Swingline became famous as a result of the 1999 cult-classic film Office Space wherein one employee complains repeatedly that his red Swingline stapler was stolen. At the time, Swingline had no red staplers, but, in 2004, Swingline gave in to pressure and began offering one for sale.
