Swedophone

A Swedophone is a person that speaks the Swedish language either natively or by adoption. As an adjective, the word means "Swedish-speaking." Swedophone areas include Sweden, where the language originates, as well as the land Islands, an autonomous province of neighbouring Finland. There is also a significant Swedophone community in Mainland Finland comprising six percent of the total population. There are an estimated 9 million Swedophones world-wide.
