Suwannee And Gulf Railroad

Florida state law chapter 3799, approved June 2, 1887, incorporated the Suwannee and Gulf Railroad Company, owned by Robert Y. H. Thomas, James E. Richards, Fred A. Wolfe, James S. Bodiford and James O. Andrews of Florida, and Henry C. Benson of New York City, The railroad was promised land grants along its line if it finished the line within four years.
