Super Bowl Xiv

Super Bowl 014 Super Bowl XIV took place on January 20, 1980 in Pasadena, California. The end result was Pittsburgh Steelers 31, Los Angeles Rams 19. The game was broadcast on CBS in the United States with Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshier. The Rams were underdogs, having barely managed to get into the playoffs in a wild card slot. Still, they somehow managed to hang on to a 13 to 10 lead at halftime, and a 19-17 lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The Steelers held the Rams scoreless in the fourth quarter and scored two touchdowns for the win. Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw was named the most valuable player. The Steelers fans were known this year for the "Terrible Towel" fad, in which most fans would bring towels colored yellow and black (the team's colors) to all Steelers games and wave them around madly in a circle above their heads, as a show of support. Many Terrible Towels were in evidence at the Rose Bowl during this Super Bowl.
