Washington's offense was held completely in check by Miami's "No-Name Defense". The Redskins' only score came on a muffed field goal attempt, when Miami kicker Garo Yepremian, running for his life and attempting to pass, fumbled the ball into the hands of Washington defender Mike Bass, who ran the other way for a touchdown. Otherwise, Miami, which had posted a 14-0 regular-season record, had no trouble putting the capstone on the first (and so far only) perfect season in NFL history.
