Sultan Abu Bakar Of Johor

Sultan Abu Bakar ibni Almarhum Temmenggong Ibrahim (18331895) was the first sultan of modern Johor in Malaysia. He began to rule Johor in 1862. He gained the title of Maharaja in 1868 and the title of sultan in 1886. He ruled until his death. His son, Sultan Ibrahim, succeeded him.
