Sue Nicholls

Susan Frances Harmer Nicholls (born November 23, 1943 in Walsall, Warwickshire) is a British actress, most known today for her long-running role as Audrey Potter Roberts on Coronation Street. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she first became known as Marilyn Gates on the soap Crossroads, a role she played from 1964 to 1968. A song she first sang on the programme, Where Will You Be?, charted on July 3, 1968, eventually reaching #17. She was also popular in the role of the secretary, Joan Greengross, in the sitcom The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, as well as gaining popularity amongst legions of younger TV viewers for her role as Nadia Popov in the popular Rentaghost series. However, it is the role of Audrey that has been her most enduring. She has been on the programme since April 1979. Her husband, Mark Eden, acted alongside her on Corrie (he played Alan Bradley).
