Star City, Moscow

Star City (Звездный Городок, Svyosdny Gorodok) is a small town north of Moscow where cosmonauts are trained at the Gagarin Cosmonauts Training Centre (GCTC). Since the 1960s all cosmonauts where prepared here for space missions. During the time of the Soviet Union the town was a highly confidential and secured area, isolated from the rest of the world. Today, many Russian cosmonauts are living in Star City with their families.
