Staples Center

Staples Center is a sports arena in downtown Los Angeles, California at the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment District. It is located near the intersection of Interstate highways I-10 and I-110. It is named for the Staples office-supply company, one of the center's corporate sponsors. Staples Center is the home arena for the following teams: The center opened in 1999, and seats 18,997 for basketball and 18,500 for ice hockey. The Staples Center attendance record is held by WWE Wrestlemania 21 with a crowd of 20,193 on April 3rd 2005. In addition to sporting events, Staples Center is also used a venue for concerts and award shows. Staples Center was the venue for the 2000 Democratic National Convention.
