Stan Grant (Junior)

Stan Grant (junior) was born in 1963 and is a member of the Wiradjuri tribe of Australian Aborigines from the south-west inland region of the state of New South Wales, Australia.

Career

He has had a career as a news reader and presenter on Australia radio (Macquarie Radio Network) and television (Seven Network, Australian Broadcasting Corporation), but has most recently presented for and CNN in Hong Kong and from January 2005 in Beijing. (Hugh Riminton has taken his seat in Hong Kong.)

Family and Social

Grant was married to Karla with whom he had three children. A well publicised marriage break-up in 2000 resulted from his walking out to be with fellow TV personality Tracey Holmes. His employment at Seven was terminated as a result, and they moved to Hong Kong. They now live in Beijing with their child and several of his children from his former marriage. Grant is the son of Stan Grant who has been active in reconstructing Australian Aboriginal languages, notably his Wiradjuri language (along with John Rudder.)
