Stalinallee

The Stalin Allee was a vast boulevard, constructed by the people's construction workers of East Berlin. It was a monument to the cult of personality, which was part and parcel of soviet politics. It was the soviet model of politics that had been adopted in the east of the country, the russian zone of occupation. After a destalinization campaign following Stalin's death, however, the street was given back its old name, Frankfurterallee.
