St. John's Northwestern Military Academy

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy originated as St. John's Military Academy, which was founded in Delafield, Wisconsin in 1884 by Dr. Sidney T. Smythe, who saw the need for a preparatory school to prepare boys for college and life.

History

Originally a high school (grades 9-12), the seventh and eighth grades were added after World War II. In 1995, St. John's merged with the former Northwestern Military and Naval Academy in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, to form St. John's Northwestern Military Academy. Still located on the original site in Delafield, St. John's is one of the oldest and most prestigious boys-only military high schools in the United States.
