St Heliers Correctional Centre

St Heliers Correctional Centre is an Australian prison located in Muswellbrook, New South Wales, Australia. St Heliers is also responsible for the State's first mobile prison.

History

The property was originally settled by Lieutenant Colonel Henry Dumaresq and named after a town on the Isle of Jersey. The New South Wales State Government purchased the property in 1945 and it was used as a child welfare institution until its closure in 1986. It reopened as a correctional Centre in September 1989.
