Srlandet

Srlandet is the geographical region (landsdel) of the Skagerrak coast of southern Norway. The name, and modern concept of this part of the country considered as a seperate region, was introduced as late as in 1902 by the local author Wilhelm Krag. Before this, the area was considered being part of Vestlandet.

Agder

Regarding Srlandet as a region, it means the two counties Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder. The historical landscape of Agder coincides with this interpretation. In the early Viking Age, before Harald Fairhair, Agder was a petty kingdom. Kings of Agder:

Regarded as a landscape, Srlandet is restricted to the Skagerrak coastline proper, not including the inner valleys. The coastal towns of Srlandet, from west to east, are:
