Southside (Dublin)

The Southside is the area bounded to the north by the River Liffey and to the east by Dublin Bay, in Dublin, Ireland. It is not an official administrative area but a colloquial term, and is generally seen as more affluent than the Northside. Dublin 4 typifies the Southside. Places in the Southside include Ballsbridge, Ballyfermot, Crumlin, Donnybrook, Inchicore, Kilmainham, Palmerstown and Ringsend. The inhabitants of this area of Dublin are typifed by the snobbish image associated with hockey, rugby and UCD.
