Social Entrepreneur

Social entrepreneur refers to an individual who uses business and/or other professional methods to find a practical way to solve a social problem or need. They often set up a non-profit charity or voluntary organisation to drive their project forward and/or consolidate it. To the extent that they succeed, that person often becomes seen as a leader, a role model, and a fulcrum of a particular community. A social entrepreneur is someone who develops social innovation through entrepreneurial solutions. A social entrepreneur takes notice of a social problem or need, decides to passionately pursue it, creatively innovates new solutions and entrepreneurially addresses the issue through an organised 'business plan' approach, thus allowing the social entrepreneur to address the issue of sustainability of the social venture undertaken.
