So Bernardo Do CampoSo Bernardo do Campo (Portuguese for Saint Bernard + field) is a municipality in the state of So Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2003 is 745,161, the density is 1,835.37/km² the area is 406 km². It is known as a core part of the ABC region (A = Santo Andr, B = So Bernardo do Campo, C = So Caetano do Sul, D = Diadema - cities in southern Brazil which cover an area of 20 km). The city is accessed by the transit system of ETCSBC (pronunciationL eh-teh-seh-ehsee-beh-seh) and EMTU (eh-emmy-tee-oo) (Emprese Metropolitnaa de Transporte Urbano, lit. the Metropolitan Urban Transit) The area are made up of metallurgical industries boomed in the 1960s and president Luiz Incio Lula da Silva worked in the 1970s.
