Sly Cooper is a raccoon who is descended from a long line of master thieves, and was sent to an orphanage when the Fiendish Five, a criminal gang, killed his parents. The Thievius Raccoonus, his family's book of theiving techniques, was stolen as well, and he must get it back with the help of his friends Murray the hippo and Bentley the turtle. After they stole the Thievius Raccoonus, the Fiendish Five broke the book into five sections, and then each gang member took off for a different region of the world. Each time Sly defeats a member of the Fiendish Five, he gains a new move which will help him defeat his enemies. Additional moves are unlocked by collecting hidden clue bottles, which are used to open up a vault located somewhere in each level. In addition to battling the Fiendish Five, Sly and his friends also have to contend with Inspector Carmelita Fox, a fearless detective from Interpol. In additon to traditional platforming, Sly Cooper also features mini-games that include tasks such as shooting and driving. Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is notable for its use of cel-shading. A sequel, was released in September of 2004. External link
