Slovaks

The Slovaks are a western Slavic ethnic group that primarily inhabits Slovakia and speaks the Slovak language. There are approximately 5 million autochthonous Slovaks in Slovakia, around 300,000 in the Czech Republic, around 100,000 in Hungary, around 80,000 in Serbia, mostly in Vojvodina, around 20,000 in Romania and in Poland, and smaller minorities in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Croatia, Russia. There are also around half a million emigrants to the USA and around 20,000 in Canada. There are some Slovak emigrants in Australia and some other countries.
