Sion, Switzerland

Sion is a town in Switzerland, on the Rhne River. It is located in the Swiss canton of Valais, of which it is the capital. In 2001, the population was 27'200. The Roman Catholic diocese of Sion is the oldest in Switzerland and one of the oldest north of the Alps. See also: Sion (disambiguation)
