Sinepuxent, Maryland

Sinepuxent was a town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, on the mainland across from Assateague Island. It was completely destroyed by a hurricane in 1818 and never rebuilt. Sinepuxent was the birthplace of U.S. Navy officer Stephen Decatur (1779).
