Simon Boccanegra

Simon Boccanegra is an opera by Giuseppe Verdi. The libretto was written by Piave, revised by Arrigo Boito. The first version was first performed in Venice in 1857. The revised version was first performed in Milan on March 24, 1881 Simon Boccanegra is part of the standard operatic repertoire. There are a several recordings of it, and it is occasionally performed.
