Simei Mrt StationSimei MRT station, also known as EW3, is the 3rd station on the East-West Line of the Singapore MRT, also known as the Green Line. Simei falls between the Tampines and Tanah Merah MRT stations. It is at the center of the neighbourhood of Simei, a small and quiet neighbourhood towards the east of Singapore. The station is above ground. As of November 2004, it wasn't disabled friendly, but elevators and wheelchair ramps are under construction. There is a flight of 5 steps to the base level with escalators to the platform level. The station has (like other MRT stations) ticket machines, card top-up machines, an ATM and a postal service vending machine (stamps etc.) There is a bookshop and a VCD library, but further shopping is available at the East Point Mall. The East Point Mall is co-located with the Simei MRT. It has 5 floors, and a basement level. Some of the available shops are: - Hairdressers and Barber shops
- Electronics Goods
- Mobile Phone shops
- Restaurants
- Food Court
- Pharmacy
- Music School
- Starbucks
- Clothes and Accessories shops
- Mister Minit (keymaker and cobbler)
- DIY stores
There is also a medium-large Fairprice supermarket in the basement. The Simei MRT and East Point Mall are situated between Simei St. 1 and Simei Avenue. In addition to the HDB flats around it, there are also a few condominium properties nearby: The Changi Changkat Primary school is very close to the MRT as well.
