Shoja Shah

Shoja Shah was a member of Afghanistans Barakzay dynasty, a ruler who ousted Mahmud Shah from power. He ruled from 1803 to 1809. Shoja allied Afghanistan with Britain in 1809, as a means to defend against a combined invasion of India by Napoleon and Russia. He was usurped by Mahmud Shah in 1809.
