Shirakawa, Fukushima

Shirakawa (白河市; -shi) is a city located in Fukushima, Japan. As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 48,297 and the density of 410.44 persons per km. The total area is 117.67 km. The city was founded on April 1, 1949. Shirakawa has schools, middle schools, high schools, banks, a post office, and parks. Shirakawa is accessed by a nearby expressway, the Tohoku Expressway and routes 289 and 294.
