Sheldon Lee Glashow

Professor Sheldon Lee Glashow (born December 5, 1932) is an American physicist. He is a professor at Harvard University's department of physics. He, along with Steven Weinberg and Abdus Salam, is the mastermind of the electroweak theory, for which he won the 1979 Nobel Prize in Physics. He achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in 1954 and received a Ph. D. degree in physics from Harvard University in 1959. Glashow is a notable opponent of Superstring theory.
