Sheffield Midland Station

Sheffield Midland Station, now called simply "Sheffield", is the railway station in central Sheffield, England. Services from Sheffield station are provided by Midland Mainline, Virgin Trains, Central Trains, Northern Rail and TransPennine Express. The station is connected to Sheffield's tram network, and is linked to the city's bus station by a short covered walkway. The Midland Station was the fifth and last station to be build in Sheffield's city centre. It was built by the Midland Railway to serve the Midland Main Line and opened in 1870. Their new line offered a more direct route to London than the previous route from Sheffield Wicker Station via Rotherham (Masborough).
