Shalrie Joseph

Shalrie Joseph (born May 24, 1978 in Saint George, Grenada) is a Grenadan soccer player, who currently plays midfielder and defender for the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer. Joseph was drafted fourteenth overall in the 2002 MLS Superdraft by the Revolution out of St. John's University, but did not join the team until the 2003 season, having spent much of 2002 searching for a club overseas, and later playing for the New York Freedoms of the United States third division. Upon joining the Revolution, Joseph quickly proved himself to be one of the most talented defensive midfielders in the league. In two seasons with the Revolution, Joseph has played in 51 games, starting 50, registering two goals and five assists. He became the Revolution captain in 2005. Joseph is also the best player for the Grenada national team, for whom he registered more than ten caps, including playing in the Caribbean Cup and World Cup Qualifiers.
