Shake (Software)Shake is an image compositing package used in the post-production industry. Shake delivers visual effects and compositing for film, HD and commercial. It enables complex image processing sequences to be designed by the connection of effects nodes in a graphical workflow interface. Shake makes it simple to find, select and modify any element, in context, while previewing the final composite in real time. In 2002, Apple Computer acquired Nothing Real, Shake's developer, hoping to leverage their hardware into production studios. Shake has been used in such films as Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings. Shake is also used for video post-production, but in this field Discreet Logic's Inferno is more popular. But work better with very high resolution formats (IMAX). Shortly after acquiring Nothing Real, Apple chose to discontinue production of Shake for Microsoft Windows at version 2.51. The current (October 2004) version of Shake for Mac OS X and Linux (which has no Quicktime input and output) is 3.5. External links
