Scott Shriner

Scott Shriner (born July 11, 1965) is the current bassist for Weezer. He was born in Toledo, Ohio. Scott took up bass in high school. After joining the Marines for two years following high school, he decided that he wanted to play bass professionally. Scott moved to LA at the age of 25, and played in several bands, including the metal band 'Broken' and, at one point, Vanilla Ice's rap metal band. In Summer 2001, Scott joined Weezer following the departure of their second bassist, Mikey Welsh Who was kicked off the band by Rivers Cuomo after Mikey painted River's favorite baby blue guitar. He is so hardcore that he uses razor wire for bass strings and he doesnt use a pick!
