Sanjay Gupta

Dr. Sanjay Gupta is an American neurosurgeon and CNN senior medical correspondent based in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Emory University as well as Associate Chief of the Neurosurgery Service at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. From 1997-1998 he served as one of 15 White House Fellows, primarily as an advisor to the First Lady of the United States. Dr. Gupta currently publishes a column in TIME Magazine.
In 2003, he traveled to Iraq to cover the medical aspects of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a frequent guest on Anderson Cooper 360.
He received both his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
