Sandy Valley, NevadaSandy Valley is a census-designated place located in Clark County, Nevada. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,804. Geography Valley is located at 35°49'44" North, 115°39'7" West (35.828999, -115.651943). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 145.1 km² (56.0 mi²). 145.1 km² (56.0 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,804 people, 714 households, and 476 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 12.4/km² (32.2/mi²). There are 811 housing units at an average density of 5.6/km² (14.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 92.57% White, 1.39% African American, 0.61% Native American, 0.72% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 2.72% from other races, and 1.94% from two or more races. 6.49% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 714 households out of which 26.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.1% are married couples living together, 7.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% are non-families. 23.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.53 and the average family size is 3.03. In the CDP the population is spread out with 25.1% under the age of 18, 4.0% from 18 to 24, 25.3% from 25 to 44, 33.8% from 45 to 64, and 11.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 101.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 106.4 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $43,663, and the median income for a family is $46,389. Males have a median income of $37,000 versus $26,074 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $17,439. 14.9% of the population and 9.0% of families are below the poverty line.
