bishop

Maestricht
from about

until his death. He was a
missionary
to the area now known as
Brabant
. He died violently, but the details are not entirely certain. One tradition suggests that he died in a blood feud, while some say that it was due to his condemnation of
Pepin of Heristal
for
adultery
. His
