Saint Lambert (Martyr)

Saint Lambert (c. 636 - c. 700) was a bishop of Maestricht from about 670 until his death. He was a missionary to the area now known as Brabant. He died violently, but the details are not entirely certain. One tradition suggests that he died in a blood feud, while some say that it was due to his condemnation of Pepin of Heristal for adultery. His feast day in the Roman Catholic Church calendar is September 17. Lambert Lambert, Saint Lambert, Saint
