Srv Record

An SRV record or Service record is a category of data in the Internet Domain Name System specifying information on available services (e.g. NICNAME, LDAP, or - as supported by a only minority of MTAs as of 2004 - SMTP). It is defined in RFC 2782. SRV record support is required of the DNS servers in Microsoft Active Directory-based networks, as SRV records are used to locate the LDAP and Kerberos services.
