Rura Penthe

In the fictional universe of Star Trek, Rura Penthe is an ice-covered planetoid in the Klingon Empire that serves both as a penal colony and dilithium mine. In , Captain James T. Kirk and Dr. Leonard McCoy were rescued from Rura Penthe, after serving several days of a life sentence after being falsely convicted for assassinating Chancellor Gorkon in 2293. In the Star Trek Enterprise episode "Judgement", Rura Penthe was the destination for Captain Jonathan Archer. He was later rescued by his crew.

Other meanings

Rura Penthe is a reference to Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. It is the name of the slave labor camp that inspired Captain Nemo's rage against society.
