RoznavaRoňava (Hungarian: Rozsny, German: Rosenau) is a town in Slovakia, near Kosice. Population: 19,690. Roňava was first mentioned in 1291. The town was once a mining town (gold, silver and iron were mined), now it's a popular tourist attraction with a beautiful historical town centre. The town is an episcopal seat and it has a cathedral. The name of the town derives from the German word for roses. A famous son of the town is Pavel Jozef Safarik. External links
