Rose Hawthorne Lathrop

Rose Hawthorne Lathrop (1850-1926) was an American Roman Catholic nun and social worker. The daughter of Nathaniel Hawthorne, she married author George Parsons Lathrop; the two of them converted to Catholicism in 1891. Rose was well known for her service near and within New York City, caring for the poor afflicted with incurable cancer.
