Rory Storm

Rory Storm, real name Alan Caldwell, was the leader of Rory Storm & The Hurricanes, a Liverpool band who were contemporaries of the Beatles in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Ringo Starr was the drummer for the Hurricanes before joining the Beatles. The Hurricanes were one of the most popular acts on the Liverpool club scene during that era, but failed as recording artists. In 1972, Rory Storm, along with his mother, died of poisoning by sleeping pills in a double suicide incident.
